REFERENCING OF WEBSITES

Students doing research projects need to provide website references as part of their assignment

The easiest way is to use an online citation tool such as the Landmarks Citation Machine or Sydney TAFE's Interactive Guide to Bibliographies.

There are different referencing or citation styles: see Which referencing style should I use? (ANU).

Examples of web pages dealing with referencing or citing websites are:

DISPLAY OF LINKS

The full url of each link is displayed. This is to make it easy for:

- teachers to copy and paste both the web page title and the url into worksheets they produce. (Students working from printed handouts thereby have the url in front of them if they need to type it.)

- students to make judgments about the sources of their information through being able to examine each url closely.

Is this a good idea, or not? Feedback and suggestions are appreciated. See box below.

Links to sites that appear to be no longer operating have been removed.

Feedback:

Feedback is very helpful - just type a comment or suggestion in the following box, then click 'Submit'.
(If you are asking a question, please include your email address.)
Suggestions of new web pages you have seen or of corrections are most welcome.

Please type your comments or suggestions here...
